DoDTechipedia Suite of Services

The DoDTechipedia Suite of Services was developed to accelerate innovation, enhance awareness of new technologies, and foster collaboration among the Department of Defense S&T community, the military services and combatant commands, and government and industry.  By supporting a more open and innovative capability development process, DoD can better realize its goal of supporting the needs of the warfighter.  Ideally, the DoDTechipedia Suite of Services will help to deploy superior capabilities faster, more efficiently and more cost-effectively while lowering the taxpayer expense.

  • DoDTechipedia Limited: DoDTechipedia Limited (unclassified) is the internal wiki for the Department of Defense (DoD) designed to increase communication and collaboration among scientists, engineers, program managers and operational warfighters. This online encyclopedia, which launched in October 2008, is quickly becoming the place to conduct market research, get up to speed with what's available and to share collective knowledge across the DoD with the ultimate goal of identifying challenges and delivering solutions to the warfighter more rapidly.
  • DoDTechipedia Classified: Launched in April 2009, DoDTechipedia Classified is housed on the SIPRNet (Secret Internet Protocol Router Network) but works very similarly to the limited version while allowing users to hold more open discussions of capability gaps in a secure environment.
  • DefenseSolutions.gov - "Submit a Solution": DefenseSolutions.gov is a portal through which innovative companies, entrepreneurs, academia, and research organizations can submit potential solutions to DoD.  To fund promising efforts, DefenseSolutions.gov offers public and commercial entities the avenue to do business with the DoD that may never have considered it previously.  Proposed ideas are submitted electronically and receive protection from public disclosure or unauthorized use for five years.
  • DoDTechipedia External:  Planned for Future Release - DoDTechipedia External will allow informal communication and wiki-based collaboration around the state of key technology areas between government personnel with large and small companies, research organizations and sole proprietors working in the technology field.
